2 teenagers arrested for assaulting a teacher in High School

Two teenagers are in police custody after a George Washington High School teacher was assaulted inside a classroom on Monday.
It was around 10 a.m. when police say the male teacher was teaching in his classroom when the two offenders pushed their way into the class.

School district representatives say the 9th and 10th grade students came into the 9th grade teacher's classroom to retrieve a cell phone when the assault occurred.

Police say one teen punched the teacher in the right side of his face, then the next teen pushed the teacher two times.

The teacher was taken to Aria Torresdale Hospital with right cheek and nose pain, to be checked out as a precaution.

Police say the teens, males ages 16 and 17, were taken into custody. So far, no word on charges.

Man City football club offer to remove club badge tattooed on their fans as they plan to change club logo

Manchester City will help fans who already have the club's current logo as tattoo removed from their body free of charge after it was decided that the clubs current logo will be ditched for a new one.

According to Manchester Evening News, it followed a consultation in which they say the “overwhelming majority” of fans expressed their desire to change to a new, round-shaped badge.

Many fans though did express their dismay, including the many who have the current crest, containing the Eagle and three stars permanently inked on their body. However the club is now believed to be looking into the possibility of offering laser surgery, or other measures, for those who may wish to have them removed or amended.

Dokpesi was never arrested, he went there on his own volition- Lawyer says

Lawyer to DAAR Communications chairman, Raymond Dokpesi, Mike Ozekhome (SAN) says that his client was never arrested by EFCC over the ongoing investigation into the $2.1 billion arms deal.

In an interview with Leadership newspaper, said Dokpesi was invited by the EFCC and he honored the invitation yesterday afternoon.

“Chief Dokpesi was not arrested but invited by the EFCC. He went there on his own volition, voluntarily upon a mere phone call, asking him to see the acting chairman of the EFCC, Ibrahim Magu. The EFCC was trying to find out if there was any contract awarded to one of the firms under Daar Holdings from the office of the NSA. The firm later replied that there was no such contract in its record. The commission later demanded for the list of directors and same was made available to the agency. One of our lawyers accompanied Dokpesi to the EFCC and I believe that he will be released once he is through with the questioning.”he said

Okonjo-Iweala ought to face criminal prosecution - Oshiomole

Edo state governor, Adams Oshiomole says former Minister of Finance Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala ought to be made to face criminal prosecution in the ongoing $2.1 billion arms deal probe. In an exclusive interview with Leadership newspaper, Oshiomole said Dasuki in his defense stated that Former President Jonathan approved the release of the money for the purchase of the arms, a claim that has since been denied by Jonathan.

Oshiomole said it was criminal of Jonathan and Okonjo-Iweala to spend money that wasn't approved by the National Assembly ...

“The issue is whether the Nigerian President under the constitution has the power to approve funds belonging to local, state and federal government- funds that have not been appropriated by the National Assembly. That is a criminal offense for which Okonjo-Iweala ought to face criminal prosecution. These things are just discussed and wished away. For me, I will stick for the truth and don’t care what people will say. Talking about revelation, look at the letter credited to Dasuki – the immediate past National Security Adviser. In his defence which I read in your paper, he seems to admit that money was spent but it was approved by the President. Does the Nigerian constitution empower the President to spend money which has not been appropriated by the National Assembly? And they took cash from the CBN. The Money Laundering Act says if you take cash in excess of N5 million transaction, it is money laundering and it is criminal. So, by Dasuki’s letter, he has also confirmed that Okonjo-Iweala is a privy to spending money never appropriated and therefore criminal, and that cash were being moved contrary to the money laundering act. Just using Dasuki’s own defence, you can see a case of conspiracy has been established between Dasuki, Okonjo-Iweala and all those involved in that transaction,” Oshiomhole said
